Jealsa Corporation has contributed important investment to minimize the impact of the activity on the environment.
ENERGY
Wind energy makes it possible to generate electricity from wind and is one of the energy sources used by the group. In addition, it increases a country’s energy self-sufficiency, this is to say, it reduces its energy dependence on others (mainly petroleum, coal and natural gas).
Jealsa participates in the exploitation of Wind Farms that add an installed capacity of 190 MW. The electricity generated every year by these facilities amounts to 426 GWh. This production is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 122,000 households.
Also, these facilities prevent the emission of 408,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent to the annual cosumption of 140,000 cars.
WATER MANAGEMENT
Water management is part of our manufacturing processes, in which we implement measures to optimize its use and promote reuse whenever possible. For this, closed cooling systems and other methods have been created to give water different uses before the final treatment. This represents a daily saving of approximately 2,100 m3, which is equivalent to the daily water consumption of 15,900 people.

ENVIRONMENT
Jealsa has an Environmental Management System certified in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 to support the continuous improvement of its operations.

Comply with the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Directive, which is why we have an Integrated Environmental Authorization (IEA).
We promote environmental protection and pollution prevention by implementing measures aimed at the responsible use of resources.
Monitor emissions to work on their reduction and fight against Climate Change.
We carry out our activities taking into account the protection of biodiversity and compliance with the requirements applicable in the areas where we operate.
