JEALSA has a regulatory compliance system, adapted to the requirements of article 31 bis of the Criminal Code and the UNE 19601 quality standard on criminal compliance management systems in Spain.

  • We have a complete and dynamic legal risk map for the entire group.
  • There is a Code of Ethics and Conduct binding for all employees.
  • Recurrent Compliance controls have been established on the different entities that form JEALSA.
  • There is an ethical channel (whistleblowing), through which any employee can report any breaches of general legality or internal regulations.
  • There is a specific computer program to carry out a special legal control over certain matters of special risk: environment, labour risks and industrial safety.
  • Continuous training is given to employees (at all levels) on the Compliance system and the importance of compliance and the ethical channel.

Jealsa donates surplus production of canned fish to entities such as Cáritas, Cocina Económica and Bancos de Alimentos on a regular basis and attending to the needs of these organisms.

We work with the Spanish Red Cross in the Ludi-educa project, which is about doing activities with children from the ages of 6 to 10, aimed at;  educating in values, prevention, promoting respect for the environment, fomentation of equal opportunities, and the rights and duties of all people.

Since 2014, we also participate in Business Alliance for Child Vaccination, promoted by “La Caixa” through its Social Work and in collaboration with Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance. On this occasion, our contribution was dedicated to the distribution of the pneumococcal vaccine in Mozambique.

We are part of Potion of Heroes, an initiative of the Atresmedia Foundation and with which Jealsa collaborates to take this project to the Galician public hospital centers.

We collaborate with AMICOS, a non-profit association for the care and integration of people with intellectual disabilities, autism, paralysis, brain damage and their families.
